Microsoft has enhanced the Internet Explorer browser for Windows PC's to support many esthetic features not yet adopted by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Amgraf has chosen to support these features when it improves the appearance and utility of I-forms. For these reasons, Amgraf's I-forms are optimized for use with Microsoft Windows PC's and the IE Browser Versions 5.x and 6.x, and/or AOL Version 6-7 browsers. These computer/browser configurations represent over 75% of the Internet users according to Janco Associates.
Amgraf I-Forms and Netscape Browsers
Although Amgraf I-forms are also usable on Macintosh and UNIX systems with Netscape's Navigator Browser Version 6.2 and later, there are a few reported problems:
- Text on the I-form may not display in the exact font, text size, or alignment chosen by the I-form designer.
- The I-forms are not centered on the computer's display.
- Reversed (white) type on black backgrounds do not print correctly on PostScript printers.
If your Netscape Browser is a release earlier than Version 6.2, you will not be able to see or use Amgraf's Internet Forms. Click Here to get the latest version of the Netscape Browser.
Amgraf I-Forms and Macintosh Computers
If you are using the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser Version 5.1 (or higher) for the Macintosh, you should be able to display, fill, send, and save Amgraf's I-forms.
If your Macintosh IE Browser is a release earlier than Version 5.1, you will not be able to see or use Amgraf's Internet Forms. Click Here to get the latest version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser for the Macintosh.
Suggestions for Viewing and Printing I-Forms with Macintosh Computers
- For best results, set the View/Text Zoom Size = 100%.
- For best results when printing, please make sure that your Monitor Resolution is set to 96 DPI.
- When printing, be sure to allow the background images and graphics to print.
Fillable PDF Forms
Amgraf's fillable PDF forms work with Windows, the Microsoft IE browser, and the free Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 5.0 and later, and can be used interchangeably with HTML versions of the I-forms.
Earlier versions of Acrobat Reader do not work with I-forms and may lock-up your system!
You should be able to fill and print downloaded PDF forms, and to submit the fill data to the server. You should also be able to e-mail a link to a filled form, and to re-open a previously filled form.
There is no provision for local saving of a filled PDF I-form. If local saving is required, try opening the I-form as an HTML form.
