Release Notes for MECCA 2000 version 5.17.  Mar/21/2013


Fixed:

1. When using aspell as spelling checker, adding words to personal dictionary
   was ineffective (ispell.tcl).

2. Gradudated bars in a box were not printed correctly (typdrv).

3. Text rotated 180 degrees did not display correctly at certain small
   sizes (m2kbin).

3. pantopedit program core-dumps easily when "-n NUM" was not given with
   the "-e" option (pantopedit).

4. Caching the xlate tables, introduced in v5.15, did not account properly
   for all font/style combinations, resulting in program crash (galeyc,
   m2kbin, typdrv).

5. The "change font" immediate command (CF) has been changed to permit
   lowercase alphabets and digits (m2kbin, galeyc, typdrv, PS).

6. 8-bit gray raster images did not print when referenced in PSFORM
   batch-compose commands (typdrv).

7. Updated tool for combining DCS files merged by PS interpreter
   (makcoloras).


Changed/New:

1. Support for combining JPEG 2000 images has been added (combinefile.tcl).

   However, it is dependent on the host having installed the "jasper"
   package for FreeBSD (as of 2013-03-01, it was "japser-1.900.1_10"; but
   earlier versions may also work).
