Release Notes for MECCA 2000 version 5.38. Jul/23/2020 Fixed: 1. Corrected typos (mictext.tcl, print.tcl). 2. Added missing information for 2D barcodes (dmtx.tcl, qr2d.tcl, pdf417.tcl). 3. MECCA used a hash table to cache rasterized text characters for display, a hash code error sometimes crashed the program (m2kbin). Changed/New: 1. Minor clean-up for barcode information display (barcodes.tcl, barselect.tcl, codabar.tcl, code128.tcl, code39.tcl, ean13.tcl, fim.tcl, int25.tcl, upca.tcl, upce.tcl, uspsimb.tcl, zip.tcl, dmtx.tcl, pdf417.tcl, qr2d.tcl, tclIndex). 2. Minor change to the File Open/Save dialog box, in order to get the correctly sized Courier text to display (dbox.tcl). 3. Previously, when installing a new font which has problematic outline data, that font would not have been installed. There is now an option to abort or proceed when such an error occurs (t1font.tcl). Such a font can still be used, but text using this font in outline mode will not display as outlines, and cannot be used to create areas for graphical effects (i.e. "Get Text outlines" will return an error). Text using such a font will display using Freetype2 library to rasterize characters (the "AA" Window Mode), you may find the "AA" mode turned on automatically because of this. 4. Improved font width/xlate-table data loading to reduce in-memory copying (galeyc, pmunu, typdrv, m2kbin). 5. Support for 32-bit MECCA 2000 software will stop after Dec 31, 2020. Maintenance for supported customers with the 32-bit version will continue until the customer's current support contract expires in 2021.
