Release Notes for MECCA 2000 version 6.13.  2024-01-05


Fixed:

1. When saving user's "text render size threshold" setting, existing other
   settings in ~/.m2k.tcl file were inadvertently dropped (m2kprocs.tcl).

2. The typdrv program, responsible in producing PostScript output, silently
   ignored text character codes which are not in the normal and special range,
   but left one undefined byte in the output string buffer.

   Such text data, likely input by copy+paste from other sources (e.g. browser
   window or a PDF reader) and uncaught, now generates an error from typdrv,
   as well as the batch text composer (galeyc, typdrv).

   Measure has been added to try to catch such cases on interactive text input
   (m2kbin, text.tcl, barcodes.tcl, circtext.tcl).

3. In previous release, EAN barcode font files were not properly handled,
   resulting in core-dump when such a barcode was created (m2kbin).


Changed/New:

1. When installing font(s), the traditional X11 font data, XLFD equivalent, are
   no longer being made (t1font.tcl).

2. The switch for "Show -1 inside" (box/area with transparent side) Yes/No has
   been added to the pop-up memnu for the Group function (group.tcl, m2kbin).
